This Privacy Policy describes how Twitter Auto Unfollow Tool ("we", "our", or "the Extension") collects,
uses, and protects your information when you use our Chrome Extension.
TL;DR: We don't collect your personal data. Everything is stored locally in your
browser. We only track minimal usage data to enforce fair quota limits.
1. Information We Do NOT Collect
We want to be clear about what we do not collect:
- We do NOT collect your Twitter/X username or password
- We do NOT collect your personal information
- We do NOT track your browsing history
- We do NOT sell or share your data with third parties
- We do NOT store your Twitter/X data on our servers
2. Data Storage
All data related to your usage of the Extension is stored locally in your browser using
Chrome's storage API. This includes:
- Your scan results (list of users who don't follow you back)
- Your daily unfollow count and quota
- Your PRO license key (if you purchased one)
- Your preferences and settings (unfollow mode, inactivity threshold)
This data never leaves your browser and is only accessible by the Extension.
3. Permissions Used
The Extension requests the following permissions to function properly:
- activeTab: To interact with the current Twitter/X tab you're viewing
- scripting: To inject the Extension's user interface into Twitter/X pages
- storage: To save your preferences and progress locally in your browser
- Host permissions (twitter.com, x.com): To function on Twitter/X websites
- API access (api.gumroad.com, unfollow-cgc2.vercel.app): For license verification and
usage tracking
4. Third-Party Services
The Extension uses the following third-party services:
Gumroad (License Verification)
If you purchase a PRO license, we use Gumroad's API to verify your license key. This involves:
- Sending your license key to Gumroad for verification
- Receiving confirmation of your purchase
- No other personal information is shared with Gumroad beyond what you provide during purchase
Vercel API (Usage Tracking)
We use our own Vercel-hosted API to track:
- Your daily unfollow count (to enforce quota limits)
- Your device ID (a randomly generated identifier, not linked to your identity)
- Your PRO license status and device bindings
This data is used solely to provide the service and enforce fair usage limits. It is not shared with any
third parties.
5. Data Security
We take data security seriously:
- All API communications use HTTPS encryption
- Your license key is stored securely in Chrome's local storage
- We do not store any sensitive Twitter/X credentials
- Server-side data uses atomic operations to prevent race conditions
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Delete all Extension data by uninstalling the Extension
- Clear your local data at any time through the Extension's "Clear Data" button
- Download your debug logs for transparency
- Request information about what data we store (which is minimal, as described above)
7. Children's Privacy
The Extension is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect
information from children.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last
Updated" date at the top of this policy.
